About Dr. Laura Hall

Many families come to me because they know their child is bright, capable, and full of potential, but something seems to be getting in the way. Whether a young person is struggling with attention, emotional regulation, anxiety, social challenges, mood concerns, or everyday functioning, my goal is to help families better understand what is happening and what can help.
As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I specialize in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating children, adolescents, and young adults. I have a particular passion for working with neurodivergent youth, including those with ADHD and autism, and I enjoy helping families make sense of complex or overlapping symptoms that may not fit neatly into a single diagnosis.
One of the things I love most about psychiatry is that every person is unique. Many of the young people I work with have spent years feeling frustrated, misunderstood, or discouraged by challenges that others may not fully see. I believe effective treatment starts with listening carefully, asking thoughtful questions, and taking the time to understand the whole person—not just their symptoms.
My approach is collaborative, neurodiversity-affirming, and individualized. During evaluations, I look at many aspects of a person's life, including sleep, eating habits, relationships, school experiences, emotional well-being, physical health, and family dynamics. Because many mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions can overlap, I believe it is important to look beyond labels and develop the clearest understanding possible of what is contributing to a person's struggles.
While medication can be an important tool, I do not believe it is the entire solution. The most meaningful progress often comes from combining thoughtful medication management, when appropriate, with practical skills, education, supportive therapy, and a deeper understanding of how a person's brain works. My goal is to help patients build on their strengths, overcome barriers, and feel more confident navigating everyday life.
Patients and families often tell me they appreciate that I am approachable, easy to talk to, and genuinely invested in their success. There is nothing more rewarding to me than
watching young people grow in confidence, discover their strengths, and develop into the fascinating individuals they are meant to be.
While I work with individuals across the lifespan, my practice primarily focuses on children, adolescents, and young adults, particularly those navigating ADHD, autism, anxiety, mood concerns, and other neurodevelopmental or mental health challenges.
